Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Digital Forensics Examiner to join our professional services team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in digital forensics, with the ability to conduct comprehensive examinations of digital devices, collect and analyze online cloud accounts, identify, isolate, and filter evidence, and provide expert witness testimony in both written and courtroom settings.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough forensic examinations of digital devices, including computers, mobile phones, online cloud accounts, and storage media.
  • Employ industry-standard forensic tools and methods to acquire, preserve, analyze, and produce digital evidence.
  • Extract and interpret data from a variety of sources, including physical images, file systems, databases, and Internet activity.
  • Document findings and prepare detailed reports and demonstrative exhibits summarizing forensic analysis results.
  • Provide expert testimony in legal proceedings, presenting complex technical information in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Collaborate with clients, attorneys, and paralegals to support investigations and civil and criminal litigation.
  • Stay current with developments in digital forensics technology, tools, and methods.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Digital Forensics, Information Technology, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in digital forensics or cybersecurity fields, with a proven track record of conducting complex forensic examinations.
  • Strong knowledge of computer systems, networks, and operating systems.
  • Proficiency in using forensic tools such as Cellebrite UFED, Magnet Forensics AXIOM, Oxygen Forensic Detective, OpenText EnCase, AccessData FTK, X-Ways, and open-source tools.
  • Experience with data recovery techniques and procedures.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional certifications such as Cellebrite’s CCME, Magnet’s MCFE, Oxygen’s OFC, OpenText’s EnCE, and AccessData’s ACE are highly desirable.  Also certifications including the CFCE, CCE, or CISSP and those from SANS and GIAC are desirable.

Expert Witness Experience:

The successful candidate will have several years’ experience providing written expert testimony and numerous depositions and courtroom trials in state and federal courts in the U.S. They should be familiar with the rules of evidence and have the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to judges, juries, and attorneys.
